Sebring, Florida…naturally!

A few, more to come, in progress…

Mostly Northern Michigan, with some of the mid-lands thrown in. It snowed on and off in January, not surprisingly.

Spotted in downtown Bentonville, Arkansas:

Available in Han and Chewy?

A windshield view of Pilot Mountain while on US Route 52 in North Carolina.

These signs, by I-77 in Virginia, are supposed to point out VA Routes 148 and VA Secondary Route 775.

This road is laid on the border between Oklahoma (to the right of this picture) and Arkansas (on the left), just as you leave the southwest corner of Missouri. Apparently, the road maintenance is shared between the states, but the shields are juxtaposed.

Some more road stuff from November.

I had just bought a Canon EOS to replace my AE-1 (which had unfortunately become too expensive to repair/maintain). This was my first auto-focus camera, and I was delighted with the results…no light leaks, no lost film due to user error, most images were actually focused, and I didn’t have to over-think the photography process.

Until 1992, there were no rest stops on Alligator Alley. It was in the process of an upgrade to Interstate 75, there was no stop for fuel at the Miccosukee Indian Reservation, and the exit ramp to State Road 29 was not completed yet (there were no services there, anyhow). So if you headed westbound on I-75, you would see this sign just to the side of the road at the exit for U.S. Route 27:

Next Exit 86 Miles

That’s right…Next Exit 86 Miles. Later on, the distance was changed 26 miles, as it stands today.
