The roadgeek bug is biting me again, for some reason. Probably due to a lot of travel.
Found this oddity at the southwest corner of Hendry County Roads 833 and 832. I found out that the “F.A.P.” means “Federal Aid Project”, and the the S – 525 (1) must denote some sort of specific line-item designation for the route. The number is not an old Florida State Route number. Looking up the ages of the some of oldest bridges used on this route (they are basically just culverts for canal water and permit sheet flow for the swampy terrain), this sign probably dates back to around 1958.
Found another one, outside Venus, Florida.
